Terms built for how LUMA works.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

LUMA is provided by BitForge Pte. Ltd. (“LUMA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms apply when you download, access or use the LUMA iPhone app, its Apple Watch companion, widgets, the lumaled.app website, support services, exports and editable Remix Links (together, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. If you use LUMA for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.

2. App Store license

LUMA is licensed, not sold. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use LUMA on Apple-branded devices you own or control, subject to Apple's App Store Usage Rules and these Terms.

You may not copy, redistribute, sublicense, rent, sell, reverse engineer, decompile, attempt to derive source code from, modify or create derivative works of LUMA except where applicable law expressly permits it. The Apple Standard End User License Agreement also applies to the app license unless a custom license agreement is displayed for LUMA in the App Store.

3. Your signs and content

You keep ownership of the text, emoji, layouts and other content you enter into LUMA. LUMA does not claim ownership of your signs. You are responsible for having the rights needed to display, export and share that content.

LUMA processes sign content on your device. If you deliberately export a sign or create a Remix Link, you instruct LUMA to create that result. A recipient may save, copy or reshare anything you send them, so review the message before sharing it.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use LUMA to break the law; infringe intellectual-property, privacy or publicity rights; impersonate or deceive; harass, threaten or defame; expose private information without permission; or distribute malicious, hateful or sexually exploitative material.

Do not use flashing or moving signs in a way that distracts drivers, interferes with public safety or violates venue rules. LUMA is not an emergency-warning, traffic-control, medical or other safety-critical system. You are responsible for where, when and how a sign is displayed.

5. Local storage, iCloud and Remix Links

Signs are stored locally. When iCloud is available, Apple's private CloudKit service may sync them between devices signed in to your Apple Account. Availability and recovery of iCloud data depend on Apple, your settings, connectivity and available storage.

A Remix Link contains an editable copy of visible sign settings in the link's URL fragment. Anyone who receives the link can open and edit an independent copy. The website reads that fragment locally and does not store it on LUMA's server. Treat a Remix Link as you would treat the sign itself.

6. LUMA Pro, subscriptions and Lifetime

Some modes, additional boards and export options require LUMA Pro. The app may offer monthly and yearly auto-renewable subscriptions and a one-time Lifetime purchase. The exact price, billing period, trial eligibility and included features shown in LUMA and the App Store at purchase time control your transaction.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm a purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple may charge the renewal within 24 hours before that period ends. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Apple Account Settings. Deleting LUMA does not cancel a subscription.

If a trial is offered, it converts to the displayed paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends. Any unused trial period may be forfeited when a paid subscription begins. Restore Purchases can restore eligible entitlements associated with the same Apple Account. Apple processes billing, cancellation and refund requests under its own rules.

Lifetime means access to the LUMA Pro features identified for the current LUMA app for as long as we continue to make that app available. It is not a promise of every future product, platform or separately sold service. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

7. Updates and changes to features

We may update LUMA to improve design, compatibility, accessibility, security or features. We may change or discontinue a feature when needed, but we will not intentionally remove access you already purchased where doing so would violate applicable law or Apple's rules.

Some features require a supported version of iOS, watchOS, Apple services, hardware capabilities or permission settings. Older devices may not receive every new capability.

8. External services

LUMA works with services controlled by others, including the App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, CloudKit, Photos and system sharing. Their availability and operation are governed by their providers' terms. We are not responsible for outages, account restrictions or changes made by those providers, although we will make reasonable efforts to keep LUMA compatible.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how LUMA handles sign content, microphone input, iCloud, purchases, exports, support messages and website requests. It forms part of these Terms.

10. Intellectual property

LUMA, its software, product design, mascot, branding, graphics and original materials belong to us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of LUMA or grant permission to use our name, icon or branding as your own.

11. No warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that LUMA will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every device, service, venue or display environment. Brightness, legibility, color and export results can vary by device and surrounding conditions.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under the consumer law that applies to you.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for lost data, profits, opportunities or goodwill arising from use of the Services. Our total liability for a claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid for LUMA during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These limits do not apply where liability cannot be limited, including for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer protections.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using LUMA at any time. We may suspend access to online parts of the Services if you materially breach these Terms, create security or legal risk, or misuse the Services. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers and liability limits—will continue to apply.

14. Apple-specific terms

These Terms are between you and BitForge Pte. Ltd., not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for LUMA, support and claims relating to the app. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. If LUMA fails an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any, as required by its rules; Apple has no other warranty obligation to the maximum extent permitted by law.

We are responsible for addressing product-liability, legal-compliance, consumer-protection and intellectual-property claims relating to LUMA. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a United States government embargo and are not on a United States government restricted-party list. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using LUMA.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the Apple-specific provisions after you accept them.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Where a choice of law is permitted and required, the laws of Singapore apply, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections and courts available in your country or region remain unaffected.

16. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms when LUMA, Apple's requirements or applicable law changes. Material updates will appear here with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
